The ceremony of the Compromise of Caspe, an event that took place in the year 1412, is commemorated. It was an agreement among representatives of the kingdoms of Aragon, Valencia, and the principality of Catalonia, who aspired to the throne of Aragon, which had been left without an heir upon the death of Martin I of Aragon without any offspring, and no agreement on a successor was reached in the two years following his death.

Ultimately, six claimants to the crown, along with nine compromisarios (compromisers), decided and peacefully agreed on who should be the king of Aragon.

For three days, the town of Caspe transforms into a medieval settlement with a rich program of cultural activities to remember these events.
