VII FLAMENCO AND SHORT SUITS COMPETITION

Royal Walk, 12:30 p.m.

The Department of Culture, Fairs and Traditions organizes the VII Flamenco and Short Costume Contest, which will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2022, on the occasion of the Royal August Fair, and which will be governed by the following call:

First: Individuals from the municipality of Antequera who wish to do so may participate, provided they wear the flamenco dress and the short dress, and attend individually. Interested parties must submit their application for registration in the General Registry of the City Council of Antequera, within a period of seven days from the publication of this call in the Official Gazette of the Province, in accordance with one of the following modalities: in person , electronically at the electronic headquarters of the City Council (www.antequera.es), by post (C/ Infante D. Fernando, 70. 29200 Antequera) or in any of the other forms established in Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. For any query in this regard, you may contact the Department of Culture, Fairs and Traditions (C/ Sta. Clara, 3. Tel. 952708381/ 134 / 135). It is an essential requirement to register by completing an application indicating the name and surnames, ID number, date of birth and a telephone number.

The contest will begin at 12:30 p.m. on the Paseo Real, in the space expressly designated for it.
The participants will have to parade down a catwalk so that the jury can observe all the details of the costumes; It will also value the way to wear them. They will parade respecting the registration order, which will be indicated to them when they do it.

Second: The jury will be composed of:

President: Lt. Mayor of Culture, Fairs, Traditions and Youth of the Hon. City Council of Antequera. Secretary: Director of the Area of ​​Culture, Fairs and Traditions of the City Council of Antequera.
Members: Three representatives of recognized prestige within the world of fashion.
The jury, whose decision will be final, may declare void any or all of the established prizes, if in its opinion the participants do not meet the quality and/or sufficient level.

Third: The prizes of each category will be allocated to the budget item of the City Council of Antequera

The following categories and modalities are established, depending on the age of the participants:
- Preschool: from 2 to 6 years old - Infant: from 7 to 12 years old
- Youth: from 13 to 17 years old - Adults: from 18 years old and up, male and female modalities

Fourth: Two individual prizes are established for each category:

Fifth: If, in the opinion of the jury, the costumes presented do not meet the quality to qualify for the prizes or do not meet the established conditions, all or some of the prizes may be declared void.

Sixth: The jury's decision will be final and will be communicated to the winners. The fact of participating in this contest implies acceptance of this call.

Seventh: The Area of ​​Culture, Fairs and Traditions of the City Council of Antequera reserves the right to alter or suppress this call by informing it in advance.

VIII NATIONAL CONTEST OF PORRA ANTEQUERANA

The Department of Culture, Fairs and Traditions of the Antequera City Council organizes the VIII Antequera National Porra Contest, which will take place on Friday, August 19, 2022, on the occasion of the Royal August Fair, and which will be governed by the following call.

As many people as they wish, over 5 years of age, who have knowledge of the preparation of this typical dish of the city, may participate in this contest. Interested parties must submit an application for registration in the General Registry of the City Council of Antequera, within a period of seven days from the publication of this call in the Official Gazette of the Province, in any of the following ways: in person, by electronically through the electronic office of the Antequera City Council at www.antequera.es; by mail sending the requestitude to the address: General Registry. City Council of Antequera. C/ Infante don Fernando, 70. 29200 Antequera, or in any of the forms established in Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

The expenses that derive from the participation in the contest will be borne by the participants, including those related to transport, travel and accommodation.

Three categories are established: Children: from 6 to 12 years old, including Youth: from 13 to 17 years old, including Adults: from 18 years old and up.

The contest will take place on Friday, August 19, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on the Paseo Real, within the area designated for it.

From all the applications submitted, a maximum of 30 participants will be selected for participation in the contest, in order of presentation of the applications, with participation distributed as follows:
10 participants in the children's category 5 participants in the youth category 15 participants in the adult category
To encourage participation and avoid, as far as possible, vacancies in any of the categories, due to lack of registration in any of them, the number of participants in the rest of the contest categories will be increased, as long as there are applications for participation submitted in a timely manner that could not be selected due to exceeding the initial quota of participants in each category. They will be selected in order of presentation of the request for participation.

Contestants will be awarded their place of participation in order of registration, not being able to occupy it until indicated by the organization.

The preparation of the porra antequerana will be completely manual, so no type of appliance can be used. The decoration of the dishes will not be scored.

The ingredients to make the porra antequerana will be provided by the organization: bread, tomato, garlic, pepper, salt, olive oil and vinegar. No participant may use ingredients not provided by the organization.

Each participant must bring their own utensils (mortar, dornillo, knife, pestle, etc.) to prepare the dish that they will present in the contest. The container you use will be at least 20 cm in diameter, and the amount to be prepared will have to be the result of using all the breadcrumbs that are delivered to you. Contestants in the child and youth categories will be given half as much bread as adults.

Companions and people outside the contest must remain outside the area delimited for its performance, which can only be accessed by the jury and members of the organization.

The jury will be composed of:

Secretary: Director of the Area of ​​Culture, Fairs and Traditions of the City Council of Antequera.
Members: Three representatives of the gastronomy and restaurant sector, knowledgeable about the elaboration of the Porra Antequerana.

The following prizes are established:

Children's Category:

• First Prize: Diploma and €40
• Second Prize: Diploma and €40
• Third Prize: Diploma and €40

Youth Category:

• First Prize: Diploma and €100
• Second Prize: Diploma and €75
• Third Prize: Diploma and €50

Adult Category:

• First Prize: Diploma and €300
• Second Prize: Diploma and €150
• Third Prize: Diploma and €75

The prizes will be subject to tax withholdings according to current legislation. For the collection of the prizes, the provisions of the Municipal Ordinance Regulating Subsidies for Direct Concession, Competitive Concurrence and Prizes for Contests and Municipal Activities of the Hon. Antequera City Council, as well as the provisions of Law 38/2003, General Subsidies, under the terms of its article 13 and the tenth additional provision.

The prizes in each category will be allocated to the budget item of the Antequera City Council 2022 23 33832 4800001 “August Royal Fair Contest Prizes” and will be executed with the fund plan and the payment schedule provided in the Treasury.

The jury may declare any of the prizes void if the dishes submitted to the competition do not meet the minimum requirements of flavor and appearance of the porra antequerana. The jury's decision will be final and will be communicated to the winners.

The delivery of diplomas to the winners of the contest will take place from 2:30 p.m., where the jury's decision will be made public.

Participation in this contest implies acceptance of this call, and non-compliance with it may be cause for elimination.

The organization reserves the right to modify this call if it deems it appropriate, giving due advance notice.
