This celebration commemorates the invasion that the Carlist army troops carried out on Zaragoza due to its strategic location between Catalonia and the Basque Country. This day is a holiday in Zaragoza, and its people gather in Tío Jorge Park to celebrate and enjoy cultural, sports, and musical activities.

The festival's program includes neighborhood marches to claim rights, sports competitions, children's shows, concerts, and a series of outdoor activities to enjoy.

The historical fact of the invasion that motivates the pride of this celebration is that although the troops managed to enter the city, they could not take control due to the quick action of the Zaragozans, who defended it with knives and all kinds of work utensils they had at hand. This celebration was banned during the dictatorship, but after it ended, the festivities resumed.
