It began to be celebrated in 1977 as a tribute to the women who still wore traditional clothes and to praise the typical regional costume, made up of seven superimposed skirts, corset, doublet and mantilla. They are complemented with characteristic hairstyles called rosca and picaport. They were the Dones de Faldetes.

On April 23rd, all the people of Fragat show their traditional costumes, most of them very old and well preserved, as well as a whole series of accessories such as fans, rosaries, shoes to create an atmosphere of remembrance. The costumes used to be reserved for special occasions such as weddings. In fact, the festivity takes place around a wedding that serves as a guide to the scene where the customs of the time are displayed for the delight of visitors.

The festival also takes the opportunity to remember the fundamental role of the Fragatine woman, who carried the weight of the transmission of values as well as working in the tasks that sustained the local economy, such as agriculture. And that is why it is considered a population supported by the matriarchy.
