The Sant Narcis Fair is Girona's main festival and pays homage to Saint Narcissus, patron saint of the city. It is a great festival that lasts 10 days, with many events and attractions.

What does the festival consist of?

The festival begins with the parade of giants and the opening speech from the balcony of the City Hall. There are also the religious events, including the Solemn High Mass in the Church of San Félix.

But what really attracts locals and tourists alike is the Parc de la Devesa, where there are rides such as roller coasters, ponies and bumper cars, the barracas in the Paseo de la Copa, among many others.

You can also enjoy various musical acts, sardanes, and castellers. And on the closing day, there will be a great parade, with giant gatherings and a fireworks display, which ends with an impressive fireworks display.

Origin of the Saint Narcís Fair

The history of Saint Narcís dates back to 1285, when Girona was surrounded by French troops. The assailants entered the Church of Sant Feliu, but at that moment, large flies emerged from the body of the Martyr Bishop Narcissus, attacking the troops and horses, causing them to retreat at full speed and save Girona from their invaders.
