The festivities officially begin on the 28th of September, the day before, with the presentation of the queen and ladies, the opening speech and the mayor's greeting.

During the first two days of the festival, the sounds of the dulzainas and drums, together with the paloteos and castanets of the DANCERS, invade the streets of Montalbo. That same day, in the evening, comes one of the high points of the fiestas for the people of Montalbo, EL CREDO. It is held in the parish church and the dancers perform, with the image of Jesús de la columna presiding. Afterwards there is a fireworks display.

The 29th of September is the big day of the festivities

It is mainly centred on religious events, with two processions (one in the morning and the other in the afternoon), in which the dancers once again play a leading role, and of course, with the main presence of the town's patron saint, JESUS OF THE PILLAR, the main reason for these dances.

On the 30th of September

There are usually various activities and performances for the youngest (children's playground, train...) and there is also a popular meal for all the villagers and visitors. And that same afternoon there is a fun and festive parade with charanga, where a large part of the population of all ages participate.

On the same day the Noche de los Disfraces (Costume Night) is held, with a large turnout.

During the 1st and 2nd of October

The bullfighting festival takes centre stage. Bullfighting has a special place in the hearts of the people of Montalbo, and many come from all over to this peculiar bullring to enjoy these popular festivities.

Therefore, Montalbo, during these festive days, is decorated and filled with joy and hospitality, where neighbours from nearby villages come to share and experience the joy of these festivities. During these days, those Montalbeños who live abroad during the year also have a special presence, but do not hesitate to spend a few days of festivities with their loved ones.
