It celebrates: From 17th May to 18th May
Place: Almazán (Soria)

Traditional and colorful celebration in honor of patron Saint Pascual Bailón that combines religious and folk elements, a procession in which the dancers perform the "paloteo" dance and the "Zarrón" distributes blows while protecting the candies. The festival includes singing, races and the traditional "soparra" meal, a mixture of wine, sugar, cinnamon and soaked bread, served in handmade bowls.

Wednesday 17th May

  • 08:00h. Diana through the streets of the town accompanied by the Small Sweet Band. We will leave from the home of the mayordomos, C/ Gerardo Diego on the corner of Ronda de San Francisco, from where we will go to visit the houses of the dancers and zarrones.
  • 12:00h. In the Church of San Pedro, solemn religious service sung by the Polyphonic Choir of Almazán, in honour of San Pascual Bailón.  Afterwards, procession with the saint and performance of dancers and zarrones, accompanied by the bagpipers Los Soplagaitas.
  • As usual, once San Pascual Bailón is back in the Church of San Pedro, the young people will enjoy the zarrones' races and zambombazos, and all together we will go to the butler's house where we will shout the vivas and eat soparra.
  • 15:00h. In the Arboleda park, picnic lunch. During this meal we can enjoy listening to music with the pipers. The Brotherhood will make firewood and wine available to all those who wish to join us.
  • 19:00h. Performance of the children's dance at the butler's house.
  • From 20:30 to 22:30h and from 00:30 to 04:00h In the Plaza Mayor we will enjoy a verbena with the Super Hollywood Orchestra.

Thursday 18th May

  • 08:00h. Diana accompanied by the Small Sweet Band.
  • 12:30h. In San Pedro, Mass for the Dead, and a new performance of dancers and zarrones through the streets of the town.
  • In the afternoon, all the activities will take place at the butler's house, C/ Gerardo Diego on the corner with Ronda de San Francisco).
  • 07:30h. Cucañas, children's games and women's bowling.
  • 20:00h. Traditional LAMB RAFFLE.
  • From 20:30 to 23:30h. Dance enlivened by the Jaguar Orchestra.
