Festivals in Soria

Traditional and colorful celebration in honor of patron Saint Pascual Bailón that combines religious and folk elements, a procession in which the dancers perform the "paloteo" dance and the "Zarrón" distributes blows while protecting the candies. The festival includes singing, races and the traditional "soparra" meal, a mixture of wine, sugar, cinnamon and soaked bread, served in handmade bowls.

On June 23 El Paso del Fuego and Móndidas, is celebrated in San Pedro in Soria, where a large crowd of people to carry out an ancestral event that consists of an initiatory ritual to achieve immortality.

On 16th August, La Pinochada de Vinuesa or Baile del Respeto is celebrated, a popular festivity that symbolically commemorates the affronts between the villages of Vinuesa and Covaleda.

In the Festival de las Ánimas the city of Soria becomes the ideal setting to honour the dead with different activities full of mystery and terror.
