The colourful Malaga Carnival takes place in the theatre and in the streets, where locals and visitors enjoy the parades and the most original costumes.

The "murgas" and "comparsas" (groups of street musicians) are full of creativity and fun during the month of February. The main events take place in the streets of the city centre and the theatres, although more and more events in the districts are taking centre stage.
