These are the festivities dedicated to the patron saint of Montán, the Virgen de los Dolores. Dates of fraternity, processions, open-air dances, bullfights and various activities for all the public.

From 17th to 25th September

Saturday, 17th September

13:00h. CHUPINAZO start of festivities in the Town Hall Square.
13:30h. Tasting of clóchinas in the Town Hall Square.
19:00h. Gathering in the Town Hall Square of the Commission, Authorities and the Band to pick up the Clavariesas.
20:30h. Proclamation of the Clavariesas and Proclamation of the Fiestas by Daniel González León.
Afterwards, procession to the Virgen de los Dolores.
00:30h. Big open-air dance enlivened by the MONKEY BAND Orchestra in the Town Hall Square.

Sunday, 18th September

12:30h, Solemn Mass in honour of Our Lady of Sorrows in the Church of the Convent sung by the Rondalla de Montán.
19:00h Solemn Procession in honour of Our Lady the Virgin of Sorrows through the main streets of the village. Afterwards, offering of flowers to the Virgin.
24:00h Verbena with the POMPEYA Orchestra, in the Town Hall Square.

Monday, 19th September

8:00h. Help with the preparation of the aperitif is invited.
12:00h. Grand Parade by the Festivities Commission and the Music Band.
13:00h. The Festivities Commission and its collaborators will treat the whole neighbourhood to the classic Aperitif.
16:00h. Performance by the group ART FLAMENC in Plaza Conde de Vallterra.
18:30h. Solemn Mass in honour of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the Convent Church and Procession.
23:00h. Great VARIETY SHOW, with LOS LOQUILLOS, the magician CARLOS VIRUETE, TANIA CELADA AND MARILÓ in the local "La Piscina".

Tuesday, 20th September

12:00h. MASS for all the deceased of our Parish, especially for those who have died since last year's fiestas,
19:00h. BIG PARADE OF CHILDREN'S DISGUISES, at the end of which children's games in the Town Hall Square.
24:00h. CONCENTRATION in the street of all the costumed peñas to enter the Plaza all together, and BIG DISGUISE PARTY VERBENA enlivened by the LA VIVA ORCHESTRA.

Wednesday, 21st September

18:00h. Children's afternoon "XOCOLATÁ"" with games of cucañas in the Town Hall Square.
23:00h. Performance by the BOCARRANAS Group in the Town Hall Square.
01:00h. Village disco.

Thursday, 22nd September

11:00h. Mirlas Championship.
14:00h. Running of the bulls and cattle trial by Miguel Parejo de Cabanes livestock farm.
17:30h. Games of skill with cattle.
23:00h. Children's bullfighting with carts.
23:30h. Exhibition of an EMBOLADO BULL from the Miguel Parejo Livestock Farm. Followed by another EMBOLADO BULL from the Miguel Parejo Livestock Farm.
01:30h. Discomóvil in the Plaza del Molino.

Friday, 23rd September

10:00h. Mirlas Championship.
14:00h. Running of the bulls and cattle trial by Hnos. Monferrer de Formiche Alto (Teruel).
17:30h. Games of skill with cattle.
23:30h. Exhibition of an EMBOLADO BULL from the Hnos. Monferrer stud farm, followed by another EMBOLADO BULL.
01:30h. Disco in the Plaza del Molino.

Saturday, 24th September

10:00h. Lunch for the members of the bullfighting club of the village.
12:00h. Children's bull run with carretones.
14:00h. Trial of cattle with ENCIERRO of heifers in honour of San Bernardo. Cattle from the La Paloma de Xaló livestock farm.
17:30h. Games of skill with cattle.
20:00h. DESENCAJONADA and exhibition of the bull from Justo Barba de Córdoba, named ABUBULLO, number 16 and number 7.
23:30h. Exhibition of an EMBOLADO BULL from La Paloma Livestock Farm.
24:30h. EMBOLADA of the bull ABUBILLO from Justo Barba Stockbreeding.
01:00h. Great Verbena with the TUCÁN Orchestra in Av. de la Tejería.

Sunday, 25th September

08:00h. Everyone is invited to peel potatoes.
12:00h. MASS in the Plaza Church
15:00h. When the pots are ready, bull stew lunch.
At the end, fireworks at the end of the fiestas.

Medieval Days of Montiel

Montiel (Ciudad Real)

Historical days related to the death of Pedro I of Castile, recreating the arrival of the king in Montiel, taking refuge in the Castle of the Star. We will see how life was in the 14th century and witness the famous Battle of Montiel.
