Friday, August 12

Festive greeting presided over by the mayor, José Luis Benejam, with the assistance of the entire municipal corporation, and Pregó by the sisters Xisca and Maria Riudavets, well-known neighbors rooted in the world of Alaior culture and members of a large family of artists They bring art and humor to the veins! The act will take place at 8:30 p.m., on Father Huguet avenue. We appreciate the collaboration of the sign language interpreting teachers, who will perform simultaneous translation for deaf or hearing impaired people; in the Foundation for People with Disabilities Island of Menorca and in the Association of Deaf People of Menorca. Then, start of the formal acts of the party with the first sounds of the fabiol. Immediately afterwards, the mayor will deliver the San Lorenzo penón to the single cashier, Martina Llambias Benítez, who will be accompanied by the peasant cashier, Juan Moll Truyol; the married cashier, Catalina Rotger Benítez, and the fabioler of la cualcada, Cristóbal Vinent Riudavets. Next, tribute and public recognition will be paid to the cashier Maite Verger and the cashier Josep Carreras for having participated for 25 years in the cualcada. After the act, with the sound of the drum and the fabiol, the banner of Sant Llorenç will be transferred to the Town Hall. Then the whole town will be invited to a snack before the Town Hall.

Saturday, August 13

  • At 10:00 a.m., a representation of the Board of Cashiers accompanied by the fabioler and several gentlemen will carry out the usual visit to the "Glorious San Lorenzo" and will invite the population to participate in all the festive acts. Musical parade from Ramal street to sa Plaça with the batucada BatuLô. Starting at 12:00 noon. Great performance by international disc jockey Joe Diem, at 12 noon, in sa Plaça.
  • At 1:30 p.m., Dalt es Fossar, photograph of all the Llorenços de Alaior.
  • At 4:30 p.m., departure from the Town Hall of the Colla Gegantera and Grallera de Alaior, together with the Colla Gegantera La Patufa de Llinars del Vallès and the invited gangs from other towns in Menorca, accompanied by the Band of Bugles and Drums of Alaior. Route: Calle Mayor, Ancho, Porrassar Vell, Caminito del Pou Nou, San Pancracio, Camí Nou, Plaça Nova, Bèrrecs, Grillons, Retxats, Church coast, es Carreró, Nou, sa Plaça and Major.
  • At 5:00 p.m., the fabioler will go to the Town Hall to request permission from the mayor's cashier to start qualifying. Next, delivery of the San Lorenzo banner at the single cashier.
    The qualifier will withdraw from four different points: Calle des Banyer (next to the Convent of Sant
    Diego), Plaza Nova, Reverendo Padre Huguet avenue (next to the cockle fountain) and Des Ramal street (devours Sa Cooperativa).
    Immediately afterwards, the quecada will go to the Rectory, from where the cashier priest, Mossèn Joan Tutzó Sans, will join.
    Then he will go to the Town Hall, where the cashier mayor, Maria Antònia Pons Mascaró, and the representative of the Local Police, Carlos Camps Palliser, will join the qualified. Then the Gin del Poble will be offered to all citizens. The which one will make several snails for the population. Once finished, you will head towards the hermitage of Sant Pere Nou.
  • At 6:00 p.m., the Alaior Music Band will liven up the journey to the hermitage of Sant Pere Nou with its festive repertoire. At 8:00 p.m. solemn Compline will be held with the assistance of members of the municipal corporation. Next, the Cashiers' Drink will take place next to the hermitage.
    NOTE: the Alaior Music Band will begin the performance in front of the Library and will arrive at the hermitage of Sant Pere Nou before eight o'clock in the dark. We appreciate the collaboration of the entire neighborhood for making the journey possible and respecting the work of the musicians.
    After these acts, Jaleo en sa Plaça performed by the Alaior Music Band. As in recent years, the same route of the ATMs will be maintained during the Jaleo: Coll des Palmer, San Diego Viejo and Carreró streets, Santiago Pons Quintana street, Androna, Arraval, Plaza de la Iglesia and Calle Menor.

Sunday, August 14

  • At 9:00 a.m., the Alaior Bugle and Drum Band, the Colla Gegantera and Grallera de Alaior and the Colla Gegantera La Patufa from Llinars del Vallès will perform a lively parade to let us know that the party will resume after the night's rest. Route: Calle Mayor, Balsa Roja, Ruiz y Pablo, Miguel de Cervantes, Ramal, Nou, Plaza de la Constitución and Calle Mayor.
  • At 9:00 a.m., the qualifiers will withdraw from several points: Calle des Banyer (next to the San Diego Convent), Plaza Nova, Avenida del Reverendo Padre Huguet (next to the cockle fountain) and Calle de Ramal (next to the to Sa Cooperative).   • At 10:30 am, arrival of the qualifier at the church of Santa Eulalia. Next, it will go to the Town Hall, where the municipal corporation will be incorporated. Next, the image of San Lorenzo will be moved from the Town Hall to the church of Santa Eulàlia. He will be accompanied by a group of young people sweetened with Menorcan costumes of yesteryear and the Alaior Youth Band.   • In the Plaza del Ramal, at 8:00 p.m., more music and dance with the Grupo Folklorico Tramuntana de Ciutadella, a complete demonstration of Menorcan folklore with splendid costumes. Organizes: Alaior City Council.
  • At 8:30 p.m., 49th Parade of Floats under the slogan "Videogames of always". A sample of the creativity and animation of the people of Alaior.
    The parade will be animated by the Colla Gegantera and Grallera from Alaior, the Colla de Geganters and Grallers La Patufa from Llinars del Vallès, the invited gangs from other towns in Menorca and the Band of Bugles and Drums from Alaior. The floats will be concentrated on the avenue of the Virgen del Toro. Itinerary: Camí Nou, Plaza Nova, Porrassar Nou and Porrassar Vell streets, Ancho, Mayor, sa Plaça, Nou street, es Ramal, Miguel de Cervantes and Comercio. During the tour there will be a fun battle of paper and streamers. Next to the Municipal Sports Pavilion, on the skating rink, a musical performance by the Binigaus Band starting at 11:30 p.m.
  • Next to the Health Center, at 00:30 hours, fireworks burst, which will be launched by the company Pirotécnica Lluch. It is recommended to see the fireworks from the school area, preferably from Calle de les Escoles and around the sports center. After the fireworks, next to the Municipal Sports Pavilion, the performance of Binigaus Band and DJ Sastre will continue.

Monday, August 15

  • Mass in memory of our deceased, at 12 noon, in the church of Santa Eulàlia.
    Act of tribute and recognition to the Local Police and Civil Protection Volunteer Group. In the Cultural Hall of San Diego, at 1:00 p.m.
  • In Cós, at 6:00 pm, Sant Llorenç Bullfights (on horseback and on foot). The participants will compete for important prizes and trophies awarded by the Alaior City Council. It is organized by: Club Hípic Alaior and Club Lô Esport Atletisme.
  • In the Municipal Sports Pavilion, at 8:00 p.m., Skating Festival
