It celebrates: From 12th October to 15th October
Place: Campello, el (Alicante)

It commemorates the battles against the Barbary pirates in the 16th century. The 12th October is the big day of the festivities, with the Desembarco, at dawn, on the Carrer la Mar beach, and the great parade of Moors and Christians in the afternoon, through the streets of the centre of El Campello.

Friday, October 6

  • 6:00 p.m. Inauguration of the Medieval Market – Pza. de La Constitución and surrounding areas.

Saturday October 7

  • 5:00 p.m. Afternoon in the Plaza de la Constitución

Sunday October 8

  • 24:00h Correfocs along Avda. Generalitat to the Festero Castle (Pza. Saint Christol Les Allez) with the “Colla de Dimonis del Campello” and the “Colla de Dolçainers i Tabaleters Larraix”, with final mascletà.
  • 01.00h. Live music in the Plaza de la Constitución

Monday October 9

  • 09:00h Ringing of bells.
  • 10:00 a.m. Christian-Mora Children's Entrance (from Dr. Fleming to the Festero Castle). Below, historical representation of the conquest of Valencia by the boys and girls of the CEIP Pla de Barraques de El Campello in the Castillo Festero.
  • 11:15 a.m. Civic Procession on October 9 and “Mocadorà de Sant Dionis” at the Festero Castle.
  • 12:00h Les "Danses". Popular dance organized by the “Salpassa” group, on Pal Street.

Wednesday October 11

  • 17:00h Set up of the Moro and Cristiano camps, on the Carrer la Mar beach.
  • 22:30h Parade of the town crier of the Festivities, with the Captaincies and Authorities, from the Junta Festera (Avda. Generalitat, 2) to the Plaza de la Iglesia (Pza. Canalejas) and lighting of the artistic lighting. 11:00 p.m. Festival proclamation in the Plaza de la Iglesia (Pza. Canalejas).
  • 24:00h Song of Hail to the Virgin of the Forsaken and singing of the “albaes” in the Parish of Santa Teresa, Plaza de la Iglesia (Pza. Canalejas).

Thursday October 12

  • 06:55h Prelude to Disembarkation.
  • 07:00h Disembarkation on the beach of Calle del Mar.
  • 07:00h Sighting of the Moorish fleet. Fire lighting and alarm voice in the Torre de la Illeta.
  • 07:10h Christian defense and first incursion of the Moorish troops into the camp with musketry. 07:40h Arrival of the Christian troops and their standards to reinforce the defense of the municipality. Then, second Moorish incursion with their land troops and banners.
  • 08:00h Arrival of the Christian Charges to defend the camp. 08:10h Disembarkation of the Saracen vanguard.
  • 08:15h Disembarkation of the Moorish Charges.
  • 8:30h Mora Embassy with harquebusier on the beach and then final battle to conquer the town.
  • 11:30 a.m. Bands Entry (route: Generalitat Avenue and Festero Castle). At the end of the event, the El Campello Festival Anthem will be performed at the Festero Castle.
  • 12:00 p.m. Holy Mass in Honor of the Patroness of the Civil Guard, La Virgen del Pilar.
  • 7:00 p.m. Cristiana-Mora Entrance (route: C/ San Juan Bosco, Avda. Generalitat and C/ Alcalde Oncina Giner).

Friday October 13

  • 09:00h Mora-Cristiana harquebusy parade to the Festero Castle. 09:00h Festive Diana.
  • 11:30 a.m. Christian Embassy in the Festero Castle.
  • 7:00 p.m. Mora-Cristiana Entrance (route: San Juan Bosco Street, Generalitat Avenue and Alcalde Oncina Giner Street).
  • 24:00h Live music at the Plaza de la Constitución.

Saturday October 14

  • 08:15h Festive breakfast.
  • 09:00h Diana festive from the Junta Festera (Avda. Generalitat).
  • 12:00h Festive entrance (route: C/ San Juan Bosco, Avda. Generalitat and C/ Alcalde Oncina Giner)
  • 8:00 p.m. Retreta Festera (route: Calle San Juan Bosco, Avenida Generalitat and Calle Alcalde Oncina Giner), with DJ at the Castillo Festero.
  • 24:00h Live music at the Plaza de la Constitución

Sunday October 15

  • 08:00h Wake up and ringing of bells.
  • 11:00 a.m. Mass celebrated in honor of Saint Teresa, head of the Parish.
  • 12:00h Offering of flowers and fruits to the Virgin of the Forsaken. Departure from the headquarters of the Moros y Cristianos Festival Board of El Campello.
  • 2:00 p.m. Grand final “mascletà” to Santa Teresa in the Plaza de la Constitución.
  • 8:00 p.m. Procession with the accompaniment of the Captaincies and their festive bands from the church square. Next, delivery of official flags and keys at the Festero Castle.
  • At the end, fireworks display for the Virgen de los Desamparados on Avenida dels Furs.
