Program of Festivities in honour of the Virgen de la Asunción and San Roque in Malanquilla

We will once again have music in the streets, a street party in the square, competitions, sporting activities, the most important thing being that we all participate together. We will all go together to honour Our Lady of the Assumption and San Roque, and we will ask that next year no one is missing, and that this Malanquillan family does not stop growing.

Greetings from the Commission

Dear Malanquillanos:

It has been three summers since you gave us, the members of this commission, the exciting opportunity to organise the fiestas of Malanquilla for all its neighbours and friends. At that time, we could not even imagine that during the following two years, the streets of Malanquilla during its big week in August, would be left in a strange silence, difficult to explain, difficult to understand, and without knowing how much time was left to resume our lives, our customs.

Finally, today we can finally address you to say YES THIS YEAR!

Two very hard years have passed, full of unknowns, uncertainties and much, much resilience, but everything passes and makes us stronger.
We don't want to forget all those who have left us during this time. Each loss has been felt in every house as our own, because with each one of them a piece of Malanquilla has gone.
We dedicate these fiestas to them.
 
Let's decorate our windows, balconies and façades, so that all of them can see that the illusion returns to our streets, and all together we can say:
"THIS YEAR YES!"

In the next few days, we will be able to celebrate the fiestas in honour of "Nuestra Señora La Virgen de la Asunción y San Roque", which we look forward to every year with such enthusiasm.

During these fiestas we will once again see the children in the square, in the streets, enjoying the activities that we have prepared for them. For many of them, it will be their first fiestas, the ones they will never forget and which sow that MALANQUILLANO character, of holidays in freedom.

This year 2022, our grandparents will be happy to see their children, grandchildren, and some great-grandchildren, filling the houses and streets of the village with laughter and joy.

We will once again have music in the streets, street parties in the square, competitions, sporting activities, the most important thing being to participate, with or without masks, with or without a safety distance, but all together! It will be a festival, perhaps different from the previous ones, but we will have just as much fun.

We will all go together to honour Our Lady of the Assumption and San Roque, and we will ask that next year no one misses, and that this Malanquillan family does not stop growing.

All the members of this committee hope that you enjoy the festivities that we have prepared with so much enthusiasm and we would like to thank the collaboration of companies and individuals in the organization and economic contribution for the development of the same.

Programme of Activities

Friday 12th August

Fancy a charanga? Today is your day!

• 10:00 Great PETANCA competition.
• 13:00 Great Masterchef II Competition. After the great reception of this activity in the last fiestas 2019, we repeat the contest. We will give you rice / potato to achieve a scandalous dish that will delight the most demanding judges.
• 17:00 Children's games in the park.
• 17:30 Free Throw Competition in the park.
• 19:30 Meeting of the Peñas in the Plaza. This year yes. This year we will once again fill our square with a thousand colours. Concentration enlivened by the charanga El descontrol de Calatayud. First release of Cabezudos!
• 19:45 Commission greeting and salute from the Mayor of Malanquilla. Chupinazo of the beginning of the fiestas. Then we will go down to the park accompanied by the charanga (brass band). This year it's ROSA! The peña "Los más buscaos" will be in charge of putting the handkerchief on our
  Quixote.
• 23:30 Traditional round of tasting of the best sangrias of the town. It is essential to take your sangria out into the street. The itinerary will be provided to the peñas well in advance. On arrival at the square, Disco Móvil and the first official dances of the eagerly awaited fiestas 2022. DJ Guille will make for an unforgettable evening. At half-time, BINGO.

Saturday 13th August

Saturday, Saturday... laughter guaranteed. Today is the perfect day to play.

• 12:00 Children's playground in La Plaza, not to be missed!
• 13.00 Suelta de cabezudos in La Plaza.
• 16:00 The Children's Park will once again inflate the attractions.
• 16:00 First qualifying rounds of the Guiñote competition.
• 16:30 Football and darts championships.
• 18:00 The BIRLOS tournament arrives. We wait for you at La Portaza.
• 19:30 Does anyone dare to play football? Sign up your team and let's play.
• 20:45 Evening session by the MASTER ORCHESTRA.
• 23:15 Children's and adults' fancy dress competition. And after a few laughs, let's dance! Evening session with the MASTER ORCHESTRA. During the break BINGO.

Sunday 14th August

The eve of the Virgin. Shall we eat together? Nomination day... it doesn't matter if you're leaving. You are already nominated.

• 11:30 Drawing and mini-story competition for the youngest children in Malanquilla. The winning drawing will be the cover of the next Fiestas Programme and the 3 winning mini-stories will also be published in the programme.
• 12:30 Children's games in the Plaza.
• 14:00 Popular Lunch. After coffee... BINGO!
• 17:00 The Pepín Banzo Show, "TEMPOS MÁGICOS" At the end of the show, the semi-finals and finals of Guiñote will take place in the Pavilion.
• 18:30 Traditional games in the Plaza for young and old.
• 20:00: Procession to the chapel of Santo Cristo del Humilladero and mass.
• 21:00 Evening session with the SCORPIO ORCHESTRA.
• 24:00 Evening dance session with the great ORQUESTA SCORPIO. Bingo at the
  break.

A night of contained emotion, today we will name the elected members of the Fiestas 2023 commission.

Monday 15th August

Fiestas in honour of the Virgen de la Asuncuón. Are you in a hurry? Surely we can still have a couple more days. Today we make it easy for you... siesta.

• 12:00: Mass accompanied by the folk group Castañuela de Aragón.
• 17:00 Great festival of "jotas" in our village square for all audiences.
• 19:00 Suelta de cabezudos and children's games in the square. The afternoon will be sweetened with hot chocolate for all those who wish to come to the old Forge.
• 19:30 After the hot chocolate... great Gymkana Popular that will try to test all the skills of the participants...
• 21:00 Afternoon session with the ALBATROS ORCHESTRA.
• 24:00 Evening dance session with the great ORQUESTA ALBATROS. Bingo during the break.

Tuesday 16th August. San Roque

Poor me, poor me, the Malanquilla fiestas are over... the countdown to the 2023 fiestas begins.

• 12:00 Procession and mass in the Hermitage of the Santísimo Cristo del Humilladero. Afterwards, the traditional "Auction of Rollos" will take place.
• 17:00 Magic in the Square with Eduardo Labella.
• 19:30 Afternoon session by the Trio Legendario Show. Throughout the evening we will hold the last dance competition of the 2022 fiestas.
• 21:00 Omelette and dessert competition. The idea is to finish with a big snack in which all the neighbours and friends of Malanquilla will collaborate. There will be gifts for all participants and prizes for the finalists in both categories. The omelettes should be delivered pre-cut into small cubes and the desserts (whenever possible) in small portions.
• 23:30 End of the fiestas fireworks to end with the singing of "Pobre de mí" (Poor me). Last notes of the fiestas and off to sleep.
