Festival programmes for May 2022

The Procession of the Cristo de la Expiración is the centrepiece of this festival. Three days of festivities with parades, concerts and a full line-up of shows and performances.

Once a year, visitors can taste the local gastronomy, from homemade sausages to the most traditional confectionery, accompanied by local wines. These days bring together tradition, gastronomy and culture of the town of Frailes in Jaén.

In the Alpujarra municipality of Padules, the surrender of the Moors to the troops of Don Juan de Austria is recreated. Visitors can immerse themselves in the Middle Ages due to the great characterisation of the event.

The image of San Isidro is taken in carts to the Paraje "La Aliseda", 5 km from the town of Santa Elena, where a campaign mass is held and the whole day is spent in the countryside with the family.

Popular festival held in Las Beatas in honour of the patron saint of San Isidro. It includes live music, floral offerings and even a fancy dress party. Not to be missed.

Enjoying three days in the Llano del Cristo de la Reja. Activities include fireworks, local performances, children's theater, an auction, and musical events. The pilgrims gather at the Plaza de España and march to the Cristo for the Rociera Mass, followed by more celebrations.
